AGMA & Alma: Modernizing Stainless Steel Production Through a Unified Software Ecosystem

A thousand different components to produce every week. Constantly evolving part numbers. Fully customized production that demands rigor, traceability, and responsiveness at every moment. This is AGMA’s daily reality an Italian manufacturer specialized in stainless‑steel furniture and it is precisely this challenge that the Almacam solution tackles every day at the heart of their workshop.

A company built on specialization

Founded in 1990 in Borgo Valbelluna, in the province of Belluno, AGMA has established itself as a key player in the manufacturing of stainless‑steel furniture and accessories. From professional environments to residential spaces, the company has always followed a clear direction: highly specialized production in stainless‑steel transformation.

From the very beginning, AGMA developed a strong software‑driven culture. Technological evolution has always been seen as a strategic lever, never a constraint. Digital tools have supported every stage of the company’s growth.

A complex production environment requiring precision and agility

AGMA occupies a hybrid position, halfway between subcontractor and manufacturer. The company designs and produces its own references, but with such a high variety and pace that it is, in a way, its own subcontractor.

We manage a very large number of part numbers and challenges, and handling them properly is not easy.

Every week, AGMA manages and produces nearly a thousand different components all distinct, all needing to be in the right place, at the right time, correctly identified. A major challenge in terms of traceability and organization, one that generic solutions struggle to address.

A deliberate choice from the start

When AGMA integrated laser cutting and tube laser cutting into its process, the choice naturally turned to Almacam rather than the software provided by the machine manufacturer. A deliberate decision, driven by specific needs that embedded solutions could not sufficiently cover.

By integrating Almacam at the core of its operations, AGMA successfully combined its long‑standing stainless‑steel expertise with advanced digital intelligence. Today, Alma and AGMA share a common ambition: transforming industrial cutting into a smarter, more agile, and more sustainable process.

A progressive deployment aligned with production needs

The Alma solution now drives two machines in the workshop: a flatbed laser cutting machine and a tube laser cutting machine. But the deployment did not stop there. Almacam also drives a wood‑cutting pantograph, integrated with the same nesting mechanisms and the same production documentation regardless of the technology.

The entire system is seamlessly connected to AGMA’s ERP through continuous data exchange, aligned with Industry 4.0 and 5.0 principles. A smooth and unified information flow between engineering, production management, and the shop floor the cornerstone of an organization capable of managing nearly a thousand different references every week.

How Alma addressed AGMA’s challenges

1. Native ERP integration

Continuous data flow between engineering, production management, and the shop floor fully aligned with Industry 4.0 and 5.0.

3. Optimized nesting and advanced material management

Faster nesting, better material allocation, more efficient stock management with 1–2% material savings per year.

2. Multi‑machine and multi‑technology management

Laser, tube, and wood cutting all driven with the same nesting mechanisms and the same production documentation, regardless of the machine.

4. Process control for custom products

Rapid application of laser‑cutting processes directly from the profile, even with constantly renewed part numbers a real competitive advantage.

A long term partnership

AGMA’s experience shows that a CAM software solution is not just about driving machines. It is a nervous system that connects data, structures production, and frees teams to focus on what truly matters: doing things well. With Alma, AGMA has found far more than a tool a technological partner that grows alongside them.
