A flexible CAD/CAM subscription for a newly established company
Established in 2024 in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Strenuus Metal specializes in metal cutting and bending services for industrial customers.
As a recently established company, Strenuus chose to invest in software to organize its quoting and manufacturing operations. Two priorities stood out: responding faster to customer requests and making better use of sheet metal and remnants.

The challenge: faster quotations and better material control
Preparing quotations quickly and accurately was a particular difficulty for Strenuus Metal. The company needed to assess customer requirements and provide reliable estimates without slowing down its sales process.

From quoting to nesting software: Strenuus connects its workflow
Strenuus Metal implemented two complementary solutions supplied by Alma do Brasil: Almacam Quote for cost estimation and Almacam 2D nesting software to optimize sheet utilization, manage remnants and programming its Valentin laser cutting machine.
Gabriele Oliveira describes how the two software modules are used throughout the process:
- Customer drawings and quotation : The team receives the customer’s drawings and uses Almacam Quote to prepare and analyze the quotation before sending it to the customer,
- Customer approval: Once the customer accepts the quotation, the job moves to manufacturing preparation,
- Sheet nesting and remnant management: Almacam is used to optimize sheet utilization and manage available material, including remnants,
- Cutting preparation: The prepared nesting layout is sent to production, where the operator can proceed with cutting the parts.

We achieved much better sheet utilization and remnant control. We can now manage the sheets in production with much greater control and organization.

For a sheet metal fabrication company, nesting and remnant management are closely connected. Optimizing the placement of parts on sheets is important, but so is knowing which materials and remnants remain available for subsequent cutting jobs.
