Almacam Robotics: the OLP software for cutting and welding robot programming

Publié le 15/03/2026

The new version of Almacam introduces Almacam Robotics, an Offline Programming (OLP) module dedicated to cutting and welding robots. Fully integrated into the Almacam environment, this module extends machine programming and moves the suite toward a unified CAD/CAM solution for all production equipment.

With the Robotics module, ALMA brings together advanced expertise in industrial cutting and robotics within a single solution. This integrated approach remains difficult to find on the market, where these capabilities are most often offered separately.

Almacam Robotics benefits from Alma’s extensive experience in cutting processes and geometric strategies for various types of machines, taking into account real manufacturing constraints and assembly requirements.

This evolution follows a clear approach: to unify production equipment programming within a consistent software architecture and ensure full data continuity from CAD to program generation.- Rosalinda Ferrandes, product head of Almacam

Almacam Robotics is designed for two types of industrial users:

  • Production workshops operating multiple robotic cells and/or combining cutting machines and robots, looking to centralize the programming of their production equipment to ensure data continuity and process consistency;

  • Robotic cell integrators seeking a high-level CAD/CAM and robotics solution that can be adapted to their customers’ specific requirements.

Toward a single solution for programming machines and robots

In many industrial environments, cutting machine programming and robot programming rely on different software. This separation multiplies interfaces, fragments data flows, and makes automation projects more complex.

The new version of Almacam now integrates the robotic workflow directly into the software suite. Programming for 2D machines, tubes, 5-axis machines, and robotic cutting and welding cells is now centralized within a single environment.

Sheet metal and metalworking companies can therefore manage both machines and robots using the same software solution. Data management, path preparation, and program generation are unified, simplifying organization and reducing the need for multiple software tools.

An offline programming software to simulate cutting and welding robots

In robotics, the main challenge is not only to generate toolpaths, but to ensure that the robot can access the areas to be processed. Defining the right robot configuration, tool orientation, and accessibility is essential. Thanks to our cutting expertise, Almacam Robotics identifies the optimal robot position to safely and efficiently reach and process complex parts. – Fabien Arnoux, Almacam Robotics Engineer.

With Almacam Robotics, preparation and simulation of robotic cutting and welding applications are carried out within a single environment. Users benefit from a consistent approach across all their robotic cells.

The solution enables:

  • defining, optimizing, and managing toolpaths for welding and cutting robots;

  • ensuring a continuous workflow from CAD data import to robot program generation;

  • maintaining technical data (geometry, material, process parameters) throughout the entire process.

This continuity reduces manual rework, minimizes the risk of errors, and secures robot program generation. In welding applications—where path accuracy and control of process parameters directly impact quality and repeatability—this is particularly critical.
