Alma welcomes a newcomer, Eric THOUVENIN, as Sales Engineer for the South of France. With over 20 years‘ experience in software, he will be your contact to guide you through your projects. Meet Eric now!
Eric, can you tell us a little about yourself?
“With great pleasure!
I have over 15 years’ solid experience in business development, specializing in technological innovation and the world of IT software, acquired within deep tech start-ups and major international groups.
With dual technical and commercial skills, I have an engineering background complemented by a master’s degree in management and sales. I’m very familiar with selling complex, technical and innovative solutions, which enables me to quickly understand customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
Above all, I’m a professional, organized, dynamic, autonomous, efficient and customer-oriented in my actions. I like to work with passion, knowing my subject inside out. I like to be transparent and offer the best possible service.
I attach great importance to communication, communicating clearly and persuasively while remaining transparent. Offering a tailor-made service, building a solid and lasting relationship with prospects and customers, as well as with business partners.
My passions outside work? I love street art, and in Grenoble I’m well served by the many grandiose works, 90s music and sport. I practice board sports such as snowboarding, wing foil, kite surfing and surfing to clear my head. I regularly play padel and do fitness classes to burn off energy, challenge myself, keep fit and find new energy.
It’s vital for me to be a healthy person in a healthy body, both professionally and personally.“
Why did you decide to join the Alma team?
What surprised me, already during my interviews, was that ALMA is a SCOP in which human values come first. I’d never heard of this kind of company before, and it intrigued me. Does such a company really exist?
I wanted to work in a company in which benevolence and relationships between employees are simple and transparent.
The collaborative aspect where everyone is included in the strategy, with a participative aspect for employees. One of the strong points is that every voice counts, we all become collaborators, and the company belongs 100% to the employees.
What also surprised me was the atmosphere: I was given a very warm welcome, we had an induction course, a welcome breakfast, and tutors to help us integrate all the values and workings of our SCOP.
I have to admit I like my new environment: people are approachable, as are the managers, and together we build our strategy for today and tomorrow. The software is innovative, with high added value on the market for our customers. I feel at ease in this world, with recognized technical expertise.
We also have green spaces, our forest garden, where we can spend time outdoors.“
In your experience, what does it take to fully understand and support a customer?
“In my opinion, you have to be open, ask the right questions and listen carefully.
Take the time to analyze and understand the technical needs and working methods of our customers and prospects.
This will enable us to guide them according to their needs in a heterogeneous environment.
Once this stage has been completed, it’s important to have constructive internal exchanges, as this is a multipart collaboration.
To sum up, I’d say that we collaborate, support and build a solution together with our customers and future customers from A to Z, in an economic context that is certainly difficult and competitive, but this makes us unique and human, not forgetting the expertise of our software. “
How Alma’s offer can particularly help these companies meet these challenges?
“I’ve only been with Alma for a month, so I don’t yet have a complete picture of the software, but from what I’ve seen, we develop and market our almacam software suite, CAD/CAM software, to optimize and automate our customers’ processes and production.
From the gateway to ERP, via sheet metal estimating, CAD-CAM software, 2D/3D machines and even welding and cutting robotics.
We don’t just own our nesting algorithms: some software publishers use them to build their own software, while others integrate our software solutions directly into their machines.
Our aim is to help our customers save time and materials, and to make them more competitive in the marketplace. “
