What is the Almacam Nesting Trial? What is the difference from the Almacam software?

The Almacam Nesting Trial is a cloud-based shared demonstration environment designed to showcase the power of our 2D nesting engine embedded in the Almacam solution.

This trial is a demo version of our algorithms: it is not the Almacam software itself. The complete Almacam software is installed on-premise, on your computer or server. It offers a different interface and includes a wide range of additional features specifically developed for industrial productions.

What can I test with the Almacam Nesting Trial?

With the Almacam Nesting Trial, you can explore automatic true shape 2D nesting.

  • Import 2D parts of various formats such as .dxf, .dwg, .dstv or spreadsheet,
  • Take advantage of automatic cleaning and stitching algorithms to prepare parts,
  • Set material and sheet parameters (non-rectangular sheet formats are also supported),
  • Set the execution time and launch the automatic nesting process,
  • Realize how Almacam nesting algorithms optimize material usage.

The Almacam Nesting Trial does not support nesting of tubes, profiles, or 3D blocks. These features are fully available in the Almacam suite but not included in this trial platform.

What is the difference between the Fast, Balanced, and Quality options in the nesting time settings?

In the Almacam Nesting Trial, you can decide how quickly you want to obtain your nesting results. This determines how long the Almacam nesting engine searches for the best material optimization.

  • Fast nesting gives you a result very quickly, using fewer optimization cycles. It’s ideal for quick tests or when you need a good result in a short time.
  • Balanced nesting offers a middle ground between speed and quality. It performs a moderate number of optimization cycles to provide a compromise between computation time and material yield.
  • Quality nesting allows the algorithm to run more iterations to explore additional combinations. It usually produces better material yield (less waste), but it takes more time to compute.

How to test Almacam’s other features (assembly import, quotation, tube nesting, machine programming…)?
